High on Endorphins

Ha ha.

My dear laptop has been slowly going out on my the last several months. I bought this laptop right after I graduated high school 3.5 years ago and it has served me well. I ran out of memory forever ago, the disc player is totally broken, the sound rarely works, the screen is warped and now it won't charge (and therefore turn on) at all!

It is time for a new computer. My birthday is next month, maybe a fairy will love me very much.

Since my computer has died and doesn't appear to be coming back to life anytime soon, I haven't been able to blog and lost all my yummy food photos! Lucky for me I can steal David's laptop for time being and just work with what I've got.

Tonight was awesome. Lately I've been in an emotional rut. I'm working through a lot of issues and I've been feeling kind of poopy.Tonight I set out for a 7 mile run and 10 minutes into it I realized it just wasn't happening.

Instead of coming home and snacking in front of the TV all night I had some fun taking Dixie for a walk, did about 20 minutes of fun strength moves, played on the swing set at the park and played 25 minutes of racquetball (inspired by Betsy)! Now I'm endorphin-happy and ready for a 7 mile run tomorrow before work!
This morning I enjoyed apple pie oatmeal for breakfast...

...and frozen mango and a granola bar for a snack.
A peachy green smoothie...

...and quinoa with sundried tomatoes and vegan mayo for lunch. (Weird, I know... I am very low on groceries!)

Dinner is unpictured: I had pasta with tons of frozen veggies. I wanted CARBS.

For dessert I enjoyed a single-serving vegan brownie a la Happy Herbivore :)

David and I moved into the new house at the beginning of July and have been pretty successful at setting everything up so we enjoy it. We love our living room, the kitchen it organized and the office is comfy... three of the four places where we spend most of our time are great.

But the bedroom
. The bedroom is huge and combining our few small and mismatched pieces of furniture was not doing anything for the huge, white room! I don't have any before photos, but it was so bad I didn't like being in there.

I've been working on it since David left town and this is what it looks like now. It could definitely be better, but considering I spent less than $100 making this room "ours" I am in love with it!
What went down:

- we painted the dominant wall a bold color ($15)
-I bought bold jazz posters off eBay and framed them myself ($30)
-I bought an IKEA duvet cover and sham cover ($45)
Since we don't have money to invest in the room I opted for a funky, mis-matched theme so I could incorporate different pieces easier. The chair on the left I found on the side of the road. The makeshift "night stand" is a wood box from the garage. We're using David's old bedding. The lamp was a hand-me-down that I repainted.

I hope David loves it when he comes home!!

Do you have any cheap redecorating tricks?
