Dogz

Saturday morning  Dixie and I visited friends at the local dog park before making the two hour drive “home” to visit family… after her bath Dixie was ready to nap on the drive!

Dixie was so happy to arrive and hang out with her “cousin” Sabrina the boxer (my Dad’s dog).

Of course we headed to another dog park!

Dixie got checked out by some men…

The girls took it easy…

Before coming home for a swim… (oops- that’s not swimming!)

Eventually the girls lost the suits and went for a more natural look.

Dixie was super-pleased to get two baths on one day (that’s my sister doing the honor). Sabrina was disappointed with the situation in general.

Wait, this isn’t a dog blog? Okay. So to pull me through a weekend in a Milk-Meat-HFCS house, I brought some goods… edamame, soy milk, oats (don’t buy this kind! I’m just using up my last few packets!) and leftovers in a throw-away container.

Having healthy, vegan food to rely on definitely made this trip easier. I didn’t have to worry about what my family’s kitchen was stocked with and if I’d be able to eat well. I definitely recommend traveling with some healthy staples! Remember you can always keep some dry oats in your car for a time of need.

How was your weekend?

Hello, Monday!
