5 Things Running Has Done for Me


What Running Has Done For Me

1. My appetite has exploded. I am always eating anyway, but I'm especially crazy after a long run. My appetite is unbelievable the day after I run more than 7 miles! Crazy I tell you! I think running long distances is the worst thing for a diet!

2. My legs are rockin'! My legs have always been thick and undefined. I never had ankles. Now, I love the shape of my legs. I have actual ankles (!) and a tight bum. Weight aside, running is good for your body!

3. I've learned to appreciate how to slow down. Running can be intense, so during my half marathon training I began to cling to yoga and Pilates. I need more balance when running.

4. I'm more in touch with my body. Since I began training I've learned to listen to my body when it comes to fuel, pain, sleep and exercise.

5. I've gained confidence. If I can run 13.1 miles and still live, anything is possible. My whole mindset has changed since my race.
