When THAT pain comes knocking

"I know what's wrong with her," my young step-brother proudly exclaimed during a heated argument. "It's the last week of the month. That means it's THAT time of the month for women." Ahh, the happy ignorance of a young man...

Men, you might not be so lucky to have a menstrual cycle of your own, but you have certainly dealt with it at some point- whether it be a wife, sister, mother, friend, girlfirend... If you don't read the post, at least skip to the question at the end!

The menstrual demons have come to my door.

Pamprin, Midol, Tylenol... I've tried it all. Only Excedrin Extra Strength brings back that jolly old smile for me. I don't know what it is, but Excedrin works. (It even saved the day (rather the MONTH) with my abcessed tooth a while back.)

Other than drugs, I also like to

drink Chamomile tea (something so soothing about Chamomile)

eat light but frequent meals

eat clean (my body has enough going on- it doesn't need to deal with crappy fuel, too)

drink lots of water

keep exercising- it really helps (if everything else sounds like torture, at least try to walk)

try a heat pack (I ordered mine today from an Etsy shop... although I need it now!)

take special care of myself (yes, I seize the opportunity to baby myself)

Women: What do you do when the menstrual demons come knocking at your door? Is there any one tip that always pulls you through? Anything you've tried that definitely did not help?

Men: Any tips that you do to help the women in your life during this time?
