Cafe 118

Ryan and I are working on a freelance project together (more details soon!), so we had our first meeting at Cafe 118, a living cuisine cafe and juice bar. It’s raw, vegan and wonderful.

I loved their table settings. Ryan and I enjoyed chatting with the owner before we finally decided on our orders.IMG_0769

IMG_0770 IMG_0771 For beverage we both ordered the Tropical Mint Smoothie- pineapple and young coconut with agave and mint. It was light, refreshing and perfectly sweet.

IMG_0773 My entree choice was a no brainer. I love pad thai so I was eager to try the raw, vegan version. Cafe 118’s version included zucchini and squash noodles with a sesame glaze.

This was fantastic. The veggie noodles highly resembled “regular” noodles. The dish had tons of flavor with a mild spice, too! IMG_0775 IMG_0776

Obviously I hated it ;) IMG_0777

The smoothie and entree were so delicious that we just had to try a dessert, too! Ryan had been wanting to try their Smores- a cinnamon graham cracker crust, “marshmallow” filling and raw chocolate sauce.

IMG_0779It was out of this world! Ryan thinks the “marshmallow” part was cashew cream. Mmmmm!!!

Cafe 118 was incredible. Although they’re completely justified by the quality and creativity of the meals, the prices are a little steep. The atmosphere is flexible enough for a romantic dinner for two or lunch with friends. And the staff couldn’t be more personable! I can’t wait for my next visit!

Do you eat raw? Have you ever tried a raw restaurant?
